Sushi Sono Receives Top Food Rating
in Baltimore Area 2005, 2006, 2007
Washington, DC/Baltimore Restaurant Zagat Survey
WASHINGTON,
Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Zagat Survey®, the world's
leading provider of consumer survey-based leisure content,
today released its 2005 Washington, DC/Baltimore Restaurant
Survey, an annual fixture since 1987. The new guide covers
923 restaurants in DC and Baltimore, including Annapolis,
the Eastern Shore and Northern Virginia, as surveyed by
6,098 avid local restaurant-goers (a 41% increase in participation
over the last survey). On average the restaurants surveyed
were visited three or more times per day throughout the
year.
Reflecting an important national trend,
two Japanese restaurants respectively Makoto in DC and Sushi
Sono in Baltimore received the highest foods ratings.
Tim Zagat, CEO of Zagat Survey, stated, "Twenty years
ago there were hardly any Japanese restaurants of note in
America. Ten years ago they were only beginning to emerge
in cities throughout the country. This is a watershed year,
as these and other Asian restaurants, have replaced French
restaurants in the top ranks."
